Two die after taking herbal medicine

A nine-year old girl and a man died, while another man fell ill after taking herbal medicine in Kushtia's Mirpur Upazila. The dead have been identified as Noor Mohammad, 50, and Shamima, daughter of Nawab Ali. "Noor went to his neighbour Nawab Ali's house to enjoy a television programme. At that time, Ali took syrup, as he was suffering from a cold," said Nawab's brother Mizan. "His daughter Shamima and Noor also took the medicine which is locally known as unani syrup," he said.

BD, EU to sign bilateral financing deal

Bangladesh and the European Union (EU) will sign a bilateral financing agreement on the Human Capital Development Programme 2021 (HCDP-21) on Tuesday.
