May 20, 2018 00:00:00

Leaders of quota reform movement on Saturday decided to withdraw their decision of boycotting exams, reports UNB.

However, they will continue with class boycott for indefinite period at all universities and colleges across the country.

The protesters came up with the announcement at a press conference in front of central library of Dhaka University (DU).

Nurul Haque Nur, joint convener of 'Bangladesh General Student's Rights

Protection Alliance' said, "We have postponed the decision of boycotting examinations considering the session jam and the ongoing month of holy Ramadan."

But our class boycotting programme will continue until the gazette is issued as per the prime minister's decision abolishing the quota system in public services, he added.

Hasan Al Mamun, convener of the platform, alleged that "Students who are involved in quota reform movement are being harassed at different places across the country."

The platform co-convener Rashed Kahan and Faruq Hossain among others were present at the press conference.
