BCL fields 25-member full panel

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Sunday announced its 25-member full panel for contesting the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections billed for March 11.

The ruling party Awami League's student wing also unveiled the names of its aspirants for the posts of vice president and general secretary in the hall union elections.

BCL central president Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon, general secretary Golam Rabbani and DU unit general secretary Md Saddam Hussain were announced as vice president, general secretary and assistant general secretary candidates respectively for the DUCSU polls.

Sanjit Chandra Das, chairman of the committee to conduct DUCSU elections and also DU unit BCL president, announced the panel at a press conference at the university's Madhur Canteen.

Other candidates are- Saad Bin Qader for liberation war affairs secretary post; Arif Ibn Ali for science and technology affairs secretary; BM Lipi Akhter for common room and cafeteria affairs secretary; Shahrima Tanzina Orni for international affairs secretary; Mazharul Kabir Soyan for literacy affairs secretary; Shams-e-Noman for cultural affairs secretary; Shakil Ahmad Tanvir for sports secretary; Rakib Hawlader for students' transport secretary and Azizul Haque Sarker for the social welfare secretary post.

Those who got nominations for the executive members are - Chibal Sangma, Nazrul Islam, Rakibul Hasan, Rakibul Islam Oitihya, Tanvir Hasan Saikat, Raysa Nasser, Sabrina Iete, Ishat Kashfia Ira, Nipu Islam Tanni, Haider Mohammad Zitu, Tilottama Shikdar, Zulfikar Alam Russell and Mahmudul Hassan.

Besides, Bangladesh Chhatra Moitree, Workers' Party-backed student wing, announced their panel at Modhur Canteen.

DU unit Chhatra Moitree president Rasel Sheikh and Vice President Chanom Siddique Shiti have been nominated for the VP and GS posts respectively.
