BCG Director General Rear Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury greeted Sheikh Hasina with a bouquet at Ganobhaban on Tuesday, according to a press statement.
This is a unique example in 47 years of Bangladesh's history that people have exercised their voting right in a neutral and peaceful environment, thanks to Sheikh Hasina's farsighted leadership, said the BCG DG.
He also said the people of Bangladesh made Sheikh Hasina victorious in the month of victory in the same way the people responded to the call of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for the liberation war of the country.
"Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was the first to introduce the Territorial Water and Maritime Zones Act when none in this subcontinent was aware of it," the statement added.
