Fire at a city building

A small fire broke out at a multistoried commercial building in the capital's 217 Shaheed Nazrul Islam Sarani (former 44 Topkhana Road) on Monday at around 7:00 pm.

The flame originated from a deep refrigerator, placed in the office room of Metropolitan Hotel, located on the third floor of the building near Purana Paltan intersection.

Three units of fire-fighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame at around 7:15 pm with the help of local people. "There was no report of casualty," senior station officer (acting) of fire service office Abdus Shahid told the FE.
