Gold prices edge up (2-1-2019)

Jewellers increased the prices of gold in the country on Tuesday.

The prices of 22 and 18 carat gold rose by Tk 1516 a bhori while 21 carat gold saw a rise of Tk 1458 a bhori, according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BJS).

The new prices will come into effect today (Wednesday).

With the price hike, one bhori of 22 carat gold will now be sold at Tk 48,988, while 21 carat gold at Tk 46,656 and 18 carat gold at Tk 41640.

However, the prices of traditional gold and silver remained unchanged.

The association has revised the gold prices in line with the international market prices, the press release added.
