Kamalapur Railway Station and four other outlets are set to witness a rush of potential ticket buyers today as they will sell advance train tickets for June 03.

Meanwhile, hundreds thronged Kamalapur, Airport Station, Banani, Tejgaon and old railway building at Fulbaria on Friday to purchase tickets for June 02.

'Rail Sheba' was, however, malfunctioning even on Friday while the Bangladesh Railway (BR) did not make any further statement on online sale of nearly 14,000 tickets through this app.

It has allocated a total of 28,000 tickets-50 per cent for online sale-for intercity passengers this Eid.

The app, run by a private company CNS Ltd, went almost down from May 22 with the starting of ticket sales.

However, tickets for westbound trippers like Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna divisions are being sold from Kamalapur and that for Chattogram from Airport station.

Tickets for Mymensingh and Jamalpur districts are available at Tejgaon station while Netrakona-bound passengers can buy tickets at Banani station.

Sylhet and Kishoreganj-bound passengers are collecting tickets from old rail building.

BR additional director general Md Mia Jahan said they were expecting the highest rush on Saturday (today) and Sunday (tomorrow) for buying advance tickets for June 03 and June 04.

Trains might witness usual rush on May 31, June 03 and June 04, he added.

Mr Jahan said, "We've all-out preparations to let people reach their destinations safely."

The authorities are now focusing on preparations for safe and smooth journey for home-goers.

The rail official said a new train is going to be added from Saturday on Dhaka-Panchagarh route.

However, Eid will be celebrated on June 05 or 06 depending on the sighting of the moon.

If Eid is observed in June 06, passengers can travel on June 05 and tickets will be available from the counters, said BR officials.
