March 26, 2019 00:00:00

For the third successive year, the nation observed a one-minute 'blackout' programme on Monday night, marking the 'Genocide Day', reports UNB.

The 'blackout' programme was observed from 9.00pm.

Lights were switched off for one minute. However, establishments of emergency services remained  out of the purview of the programme.

In 2017, the government officially declared March 25 as the 'Genocide Day', marking the widespread killings by Pakistani Army on the unarmed Bangalees on the black night of March 25, 1971.
