Leaders of the demonstration arranged under the banner of 'Non-MPO Educational Institution Teachers-Staff Federation' said they have decided to continue the strike at the Jatiya Press Club premises as the minister did not give them any specific date or timeframe.
The teachers also claimed that the minister even did not break their hunger strike.
Meanwhile, at least 35 teachers, including federation president Golam Mahmuddunabi, fell sick and they were taken to hospital.
Earlier, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid went to the Jatiya Press Club around 11 am and urged the teachers and employees for returning to their work breaking the hunger strike.
Nahid also assured them of fulfilling their demand saying that the finance minister have agreed to accept it. "But, it'll take time as we've to go through a process," said Nahid.
The teachers and employees of non-MPO educational institutions began the fast-unto-death on Sunday morning demanding the regularisation of their jobs under the Monthly Pay Order (MPO) of the government.
Earlier, they had gone on a movement under the banner of 'Non-MPO Educational Institution Teachers-Employees Federation' in front of the Jatiya Press Club on December 26.
