Quader's bypass surgery successful

Obaidul Quader underwent a successful bypass surgery at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, reports UNB.

Prof Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) said that cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Sivathasan Cumaraswamy, a member of the medical board treating Quader, conducted the surgery.

After surgery, the Road, Transport and Bridges Minister has been kept at post-operative care, said the BSMMU physician after briefing of Dr Cumaraswamy on Obaidul Quader's health condition.

Quader, also general secretary of Awami League (AL), was admitted to BSMMU on March 03 following breathing complications and tests revealed three blockages in his coronary artery.
