FE Report | November 14, 2018 00:00:00

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) launched a drive on Tuesday at a school in Dhaka's Mirpur area over charging higher fee for the registration of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination as parts its regular action.

An ACC team conducted the drive instantly at Mirpur Girls Ideal Laboratory Institute after the anti-graft watchdog received the specific complaints through its 106 Hotline.

The team led by acting director general of ACC (Resistance) and chief coordinator of enforcement Sarwar Mahmud conducted the drive on the school premises.

After reviewing all the official papers on the registration process of SSC examination 2019, the team found that the school authorities charged additional Tk 3,560 as coaching and other fees. The government fixed Tk 1,500 to register for SSC examination 2019. Some 440 students are participating at the upcoming SSC exam from the school.

The ACC team discussed the matter elaborately with the school principal Nasrin Naher during the drive.
