ACC oversees train ticketing process at Kamalapur Station

An enforcement team of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday paid a sudden visit to Kamalapur Railway Station in the city to examine if there were any irregularities in the ticketing process there ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.

The team led by the commission's deputy director Mahmud Hasan went to the railway station at around 11am to see whether there were any types of harassment on the part of passengers in having advance tickets, according to an ACC press release.

ACC officials exchanged views with the people waiting in long queues there to avail train tickets for the Eid journey, and asked to know whether they were became victims of any irregularities.

The anti-graft watchdog received instant complaints from them about lobbying in ticket purchase and sale, negligence in queue management and ticket scalping.
