Actor Siraj Haider dies

Renowned film actor Siraj Haider has passed away, reports bdnews24.com.

The 71-year-old actor died at his home in Dhaka's Kalyanpur around 6am Thursday, his son Lenin Haider told the news agency.

Haider collapsed while going to the bathroom, his son said adding that stroke could be the possible reason for his death.

"I stayed up with him until 4am. He collapsed around 6am. We could not even take him to hospital."

The death of the actor has saddened his fans and friends.

Haider had been active in the film industry for the past 50 years.

He started acting in 1962 when he was in grade IX.

He made his debut with the film 'Shukher Shongshar' where he played the role of an antagonist.
