BAF signs deal with China for K-8W jet trainer aircraft

Bangladesh Air Force signed on Wednesday a deal with China to procure K-8W Jet trainer aircraft for Bangladesh Air Force under G2G agreement, says an ISPR press release.

Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans) Air Vice Marshal M Sanaul Huq and Liu Jianhai, vice president of CATIC, signed the agreement on behalf of Bangladesh and China respectively at a ceremony at the Air Headquarters.

The government-to-government agreement is part of the implementation process of Forces Goal-2030.

Newly appointed Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat was present at the ceremony.

Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh Zhang Zuo and President CATIC also attended the ceremony.

The BAF has been flying K-8W Jet trainer aircraft since 2014. Further acquisition of K-8W aircraft will certainly enhance and uplift its training capability, the press release added.
