China to take 'strategic partnership' with BD to new heights: Xi

China said on Monday they are willing to work together with Bangladesh to deepen the cooperation of mutual benefits and continuously push the 'Strategic Partnership' of cooperation' to a new height, reports UNB.

"I attach high importance to the development of China-Bangladesh relations," Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a message to President Abdul Hamid, marking the Independence Day of Bangladesh.

He said he will work together to strengthen the alignment of development strategies of the two countries, jointly carry out the Belt and Road initiative, and continuously inject new vigor into the 'Strategic Partnership' of cooperation between China and Bangladesh.

In recent years, he said, the cooperation between China and Bangladesh in various fields, with the relations on a good momentum, has been continuously deepening which is in line with the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples.

In separate message to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang said, "In recent years, the cooperation between China and Bangladesh in various fields has been enjoying a good momentum."
