Ctg board sees slight fall in pass percentage

CHATTOGRAM, July 17: The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations held this year under the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Chattogram was published on Wednesday showing a slight fall in the pass percentage.

According to the results, 62.19 per cent examinees came out success this year against 62.73 per cent last year, 61.09 per cent in 2017 and 64.60 per cent in 2016.

The number of GPA-5 scorers increased this year. A total of 2,860 students obtained GPA-5 this time against 1,613 last year, 1,391 in 2017 and 2,253 in 2016.

Controller of Examinations of Chattogram Education Board Mahabub Hasan said they were happy with the results.

"The results of this year are very similar to the previous year's but we're happy that the number of GPA-5 scorers has increased in the current year."

He said, "A total of 98,926 examinees participated in the HSC examination under the board and 61,523 of them passed. Of the passed students, 2,860 obtained GPA-5."
