DMP chief promises action for assaulting journalists

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said on Tuesday action will be taken against those involved in assaulting two journalists while they were collecting report in city's Nayapaltan area on Monday, reports UNB.

The DMP boss came up with the assurance while talking to reporters who went to the DMP headquarters for submitting a memorandum protesting the incident.

Terming the incident undesirable, Asaduzzaman Mia said, "After investigation, action will be taken against those involved in the attack."

Earlier in the day, a number of journalists formed a human chain in front of the DMP Commissioner's office.
