DMP to bring some city roads under CC camera surveillance

The city's Abdullahpur to Kazla road is going to come under CC camera surveillance in order to strengthening traffic management system and curbing crimes.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to this effect with a private company Fiber At Home for three years on Tuesday.

Under the MoU, roads from Kazla, Mirpur, Gabtoli to Mayor Mohammad Hanif Flyover and the road of Kuril Highway will come under the CC camera surveillance.

In the first phase, Abdullahpur to Jatrabari road will be brought under the cc camera surveillance, and the rest of the job will be done gradually, said DMP.

A total of 88 CC cameras will be installed in 33 different points from Abdullahpur to Kazla road, it added saying that Fiber At Home will bear the cost of installment, services and maintenance., DMP deputy commissioner Sudip Kumar Chakraborty and Managing director of Fiber At Home Moynul Haque Siddiqui signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides in presence of DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah.
