DU students stop four buses protesting sexual harassment

Students of Dhaka University (DU) stopped on Sunday four buses of Trust Paribahan on the campus protesting sexual harassment of a female student of the university by a transport staff, reports UNB.

Sahabuddin, helper of a bus of Trust Paribahan , misbehaved with the victim, a student of Finance Department, and sexually harassed her at Kawran Bazar intersection while she was travelling in the bus on May 17.

However, she managed to leave the bus at Shahbagh intersection, said victim's friend Rashed Mahmud.

After the incident the friends of the victim seized one bus of Trust Paribahan on Thursday and demanded punishment of the helper.

As the bus authorities remained indifferent to their demand, the students also seized another three buses of the Paribahan along with their staff.
