Four university students who remained missing land in jail

A Dhaka court sent on Wednesday four university students, who remained missing since December 29, to jail after they were produced before the court in connection with a case filed under the Explosive Substances Act, reports UNB .

They are-Abu Khaled Mohammad Jabed, 25, a student of Bangla Department of Asian University; Borhan Uddin, 26, a student of English Department at Stamford University; Rezaul Khalek, 24, a Pharmacy Department student of Manarat University and Syed Maminul Hasan, 27, former student of a Unani Ayurvedic Medical College.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Baki Billah passed the order after Sub-Inspector Md Zillur Rahman, also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court.

SM Kabiruzzaman, lawyer of the accused, said that police picked them up on December 29 from a bus at Farmgate on their way home at Mirpur-1.

Their family members on Tuesday held a press conference at Crime Reporters' Association demanding their safe return.
