Former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor AAMS Arefin Siddiq unveiling Saturday the 'V-book' authored by Sopnil Mottafi Billah at the launching ceremony at Dhaka University Former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor AAMS Arefin Siddiq has underlined the importance on utilising the youths who make up one-third of the population.
"The main asset of our country is our young people," he said.
"If we do not use this asset properly, we cannot move forward," he added.
Professor Siddiq made the remarks while unveiling the V-book on Saturday in the capital. Sopnil Mottafi Billah, a student of finance department of Dhaka University, authored the book, according to a statement.
Professor Siddiq also said Sopnil Mottafi Billah's V-book concept would be beneficial to the students and would be a valuable addition to the education sector.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr Billah, the author and concept builder of the V-book, said, "V-book or Video book has opened up new horizon in the book world. This is not only a book but also a teacher because there are video classes for every single page of the book."
"If students fail to understand anything of the book, he or she can understand with the help of video lessons of the book."
Video classes are available both offline and online. When offline, the book remains an 8 GB memory card, which is given with the book and while online it is available on youtube.
The direction has been given on the book how these videos can be traced.
The author also said V-book would ensure the modern education facility of the rural students who have no internet facility.
Privately-owned TSS Dreamers Ltd. has published the V-book.
The 426-page book is mainly based on English grammar (HSC level).
The company offers this book in two categories with 8GB memory card (Tk 500) and without memory card (Tk 250).
Anyone who will buy the book without memory card can find the video classes on the youtube channel of V-book.
