Man dies seeing wife hurt in attack by son

KUSHTIA, July 23 (UNB): A septuagenarian man died in Mirpur Upazila on Tuesday morning after he saw his wife bleeding in the head in an attack by their son.

The deceased was identified as Ruhul Amin, 70, a resident of Chouduar village in the upazila.

Victim's younger son Saju locked into an altercation with him in the morning over a land-related dispute which led to a scuffle, said his elder son Abdul Halim.

As their mother Mahima Khatun, 60, went to prevent him, Saju hit her in the head with a stick, leaving her bleeding.

At this stage, Ruhul Amin collapsed on the ground and fell unconscious. He was taken to Mirpur Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
