Mother sues 17 including former AL leader

Police have recorded a case against 17 people, including former Awami League leader Haji Iqbal, in connection with the killing of a Jubo League activist in Chittagong, reports bdnews24.com.

Nur Nesar Begum, mother of victim Md Mohiuddin, filed the case on Tuesday, said Inspector Bikas Sarker of Bandar Police Station.

The case names Iqbal as the key suspect and his brother Murad as his accomplice in the killing.

Police have already arrested two suspects-Musa and Tanvir-in a late-night raid after the incident.

"We are trying to nab other suspects," Inspector Bikas told the news agency .

On Monday noon, Mohiuddin was hacked to death in the headmaster's office of Meher Afroze High School where he convened a meeting to form a committee to organise a reunion of former students, said witnesses.
