RAB nab eight for 'spreading rumours' over today's election

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested eight people from Maghbazar and Mowchak areas of the city on Friday night allegedly for spreading rumour on social media over today's national election, reports UNB.

The arrestees are: Mahmudul Hasan, 27, Abdullah Al Noman, 26, Abdul Kader, 28, Morshul Islam, 22, Saiful Islam Mithu, 29, Didarul Islam, 35, Arifur Rahman, 34 and Motahar Hossain, 21.

A team of Rab-2 conducted a drive in the areas and arrested them, said Mufti Mahmud Khan, director of Legal and media wing director of RAB at a press briefing adding that the arrestees had involvement in making provocative video.
