Ragib Ali, son walk out of jail

SYLHET, Oct 10 (UNB): Industrialist Ragib Ali and his son Abdul Hye were freed from jail on Wednesday after the High Court (HC) had granted them six-month bail in a case filed for grabbing the endowment property of Tarapur Tea Estate through forgery.

Senior Jail Superintendent Md Abdul Jalil said the two were freed from the prison around 5:00 pm.

Earlier on Monday, the HC granted their bail following a review petition filed by Ragib Ali's lawyer Abdul Halim Kafi.

Sylhet Special Sessions Judges Court on August 09 upheld the 14 years' imprisonment of industrialist Ragib Ali and 16 years' imprisonment of his son, daughter and two others each in the case.
