School student drowns in Rangpur

A school student drowned in a pond while taking bath in village Sandalpur under Pirganj Upazila of the Rangpur district on Saturday, police said.

The deceased was identified as Tushar, 15, son of Sultan Hossain of village Betkopa of nearby Kabilpur union of the same upazila, Officer-in-Charge of Pirganj Thana Saresh Chandra said, reports BSS.

Tushar was a student of class nine of Chatra High School in Pirganj upazila.

He went to his friend's house in the nearby village Sandalpur where the tragic incident occurred while taking bath in the pond, police added.
