Security to be tightened for Probarana Purnima in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 09: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police in Chattogram Khandakar Golam Faruk said three-tier security measures will be taken for Proborana Purnima, second largest religious festival of the Buddhist community, in the city and outside.

Addressing a view-exchange meeting with leaders of the Buddhist community held at his Khulsi office this morning, he assured of taking special security measures for the Proborana Purnima, to be celebrated next week.

DIG Khandakar Golam Faruk said, "Police will take all necessary security measures. We will talk with intelligence agencies and take three- tier security measures."

"Our force will be on alert on the day of Proborana Purnima," he added.

Among others, Additional DIG Mohammed Abul Foyez, Superintendent of Police Nur E Alam Mina, Additional SP Mohammed Hasan Bari Nur and leaders of Buddhist community addressed the meeting.
