Shipping ministry opens flood control room

The Shipping Ministry has opened a control room on Sunday to monitor the flood situation and collection of information on vessel movement, reports UNB.

The control room located at the secretariat will remain open from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm until July 18, said an official release.

The ministry has instructed to provide information through a hotline number (9515551).

Deputy Secretary of Shipping Ministry Abdus Sattar will coordinate and maintain the control room. A mobile number has been given to contact him over 01711425230.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked the deputy commissioners to remain alert to tackle flood.
