Six dengue cases confirmed in Laxmipur

LAXMIPUR, July 27 (UNB): Doctors identified at least six dengue patients until Saturday afternoon in the district.
Five of them are being treated at the Sadar Hospital.
The patients are Hossain Ahmed of Charmonasa, Rokeya Begum and Hridoy Ahmed of Sadar Upazila, schoolboy Famid Hossain from the municipality area, Mahabubur Rahman of Laharkandi, and Mahfuzur Rahman of West Laxmipur.
Ahmed's wife said he had been working at a brick kiln in Chattogram. "He's been suffering from severe fever for the last 10 days," she said. "He was taken to Sadar Hospital on Thursday."
Hossain was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
Dr Anwar Hossain, residential medical officer of the hospital, said the number of dengue patients had increased over the last few weeks.
"We have identified at least six dengue patients until this afternoon," he said.
