Syedah Neshat Ara dies

Syedah Neshat Ara Khanam, an eminent writer, scholar and literary figure of the '70s and '80s, passed away recently, says a statement.

She is survived by her husband and two daughters to mourn her death.

Syedah Neshat completed her Masters degree in Bangla from Dhaka University and chose teaching as a profession. She retired from University of Women's Federation College (UWFC), Dhaka.

She also taught at Holly Cross School and Viqarunnisa Noon School and College. Her several literary works were published regularly in various national dailies and weeklies.

Her first namaj-e-janaza was held after Zohr prayers at Lalmatia Bibir Mosjid and the second one at Azimpur Graveyard Mosque after Asr prayers. She was buried at Azimpur Graveyard.
