Three fake DB men held with firearms

Police arrested four fake Detective Branch (DB) men with firearms in Tongi Sunday, reports UNB.

Police arrested three fake Detective Branch (DB) men with firearms from Khapara area in Tongi early Sunday.

The arrested persons were identified as Jewel, Iqbal and Biplab.

Ismail Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tongi Model Police Station, said tipped-off, they conducted a drive in the area around 3:00 am and arrested the trio when they were coming to the area on a microbus and a motorcycle.

However, their associates managed to flee the scene.

Police also recovered two rifles, two bullets, 12 mobile phone sets and two wireless handsets from their possession.

A case was filed in this connection.
