Three of a family suffer burn injuries in city fire

Three members of a family sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out at their house in the city's Mirpur-13 area early Wednesday, reports UNB.

The victims are Md Hannan, 35, his wife Achia, 28, both garment workers, and her brother Uzzal, 30, an auto-rickshaw driver.

Neighbour Samsul said they suspected the fire had originated from an electric short-circuit around 3am.

Later, the injured were rushed to the burn and plastic surgery unit of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Hannan suffered burns on 27 per cent of his body while his brother-in-law received burns on 35 per cent of the body.
