ACC okays charge sheet against five including Farmers Bank director

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) approved on Monday charge sheet against five people,including Farmers Bank director Mahbubul Haque Chisti, for misappropriating around Tk 1.60 billion, reports UNB.

ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhatacharaje told the news agency that the accused embezzled TK1.6 billion by misusing their power.

According to case documents, the accused opened 25 accounts in different branches of the bank in the name of their family members and respective organisations, in collaboration with bank officials.

The case was filed at Gulshan Model thana on April 10 last year.

Other accused are Chisti's wife Ruji and son Rashedul Haque; former SVP of the bank Zia Uddin Ahmed,and first president of Bakshiganj branch in Kamalapur (currently discharged) Muhammad Masudur Rahman Khan.
