AL infighting hurts 10 in Sherpur

SHERPUR, July 07 (UNB): Ten people including three policemen were injured in a clash between two local rival groups of Awami League over formation of a madrasah committee on Saturday in the town's Munshibazar area.

Maulana Siddiqur Rahman, headmaster of the Jamia Siddiqia Terabazar Madrasah, said that the scuffle took place during the madrasah's triennial general meeting, which eventually has to be suspended later.

Locals and witnesses said that the scuffle took place over conflict regarding the madrasah's new committee formation.
