AL infighting kills one in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, Apr 16 (UNB): A man was killed in a clash between two factions of local Awami League (AL) in Krishnapur Bazar of Sadarpur upazila on Monday morning centring lease of the local market.

The dead was indentified as Mannan Sikder, son of Mohammad Ali and a resident of Radhanagar village in Krishnapur union of thr district.

Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge of Sadarpur thana, said there had been a dispute between union parishad chairman Billal Fakir and Akhtaruzzaman Titash, a supporter of local MP, over establishing supremacy in the area.

The supporters of both the groups locked into clash on Sunday afternoon and vandalised several shops and houses in the area centring the lease of the market.
