AL leader's house torched in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, Jan 02 (UNB): Miscreants set the house of a local Awami League (AL) leader on fire at Dhukuria village in Sadar upazila early Wednesday.

Deputy assistant director Abdul Hamid of Sirajganj Fire Service and Civil Defence said miscreants set fire to the house of Jagadish Chandra Saha, president of Ward No 9 unit of AL in Shialkol union early in the morning.

On information, a team of fire fighters rushed in and doused the fire before it could cause any major damage.

The fire gutted five straw piles in his house. On information, police visited the spot.
