August 28, 2018 00:00:00

The High Court (HC) has granted anticipatory bail to BNP standing committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in two cases filed for 'instigating' the student movement over road safety and 'conspiring' against the state, reports UNB.

An HC bench of Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafizand Justice Bhishmadev Chakrabortty passed the order on Monday after the BNP leader surrendered before the court and prayed for bail in the cases.

Of the cases, one was filed with Shahbagh thana in the city and the other with Kotwali thana in Chattogram on August 4.

Khosru was sued as a reported audio clip of his telephonic conversation with a boy over intensifying the recent student movement went viral on Facebook and YouTube on August 4.
