Awami League (AL) acting general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said on Monday there is no democracy inside BNP as all the activities of the party are being run from London and the MPs-elect from the party now fear to lose their posts if they take oath, reports BSS.
"All activities of BNP are being run from London. The party's secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir did not get green signal from London. That is why he fears to lose his position in party if he takes oath," he said.
The AL leader made the comments while speaking at a joint-meeting with Khulna divisional leaders at the party central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the city.
The joint meeting was arranged to re-strengthen all units in Khulna division ahead of the 21st national council of the AL.
Hanif said though Fakhrul was elected MP in the parliamentary election, he has no responsibility to his voters and the people of his constituency.
He expressed his hope that rest of MPs-elect from BNP will take oath.
