NARAYANGANJ, Oct 13 (BSS): Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader alleged has today that BNP helped the perpetrators flee the scene of the BDR carnage in 2009.

A team of BNP helped the assailants escaped immediately after the massacre during the February 25 BDR mutiny in 2009 that left 74 people dead, including 57 army officers, said Obaidul Quader.

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia remained untraced for 24 hours from 7:30 am on February 25 during the brutal incident, he added.

Obaidul Quader further said it has been proved through the verdicts of the August 21 grenade attack cases that BNP is a terrorist party.

"BNP is a terrorist t party . . . It has no principle, it has become unrestrained," he said while inaugurating a road that connects Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Kanchpur of Sonargaon here.

The AL general secretary said BNP talked about political ideology and principles but joined the killers and terrorists.

"BNP is now a frustrated party, fully detached from people … it is more reckless than vehicles," he said.

Criticising the remark of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on the Pilkhana tragedy, Quader called upon him to maintain political decorum in their speeches.

The minister also urged BNP to withdraw sensitive remarks on the army chief.

Officials concerned of the ministry and local administration accompanied the minister here.
