Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader said on Sunday Khaleda's party is trying to create anarchy over the upcoming national election, report agencies.

BNP wants to create anarchy as it failed to wage any movement against the government, he said.

The AL leader made the comments while speaking at a press briefing at Saidpur Airport before starting his journey towards Dhaka at 10:30 am on Sunday.

He said BNP could not wage any movement in the last 10 years against the government. "People didn't respond even when the BNP chairperson was out of jail.

For avoiding the election, BNP is now trying to create chaos."He said the possibility of their (BNP) defeat has increased as the common people took part in the train journey of AL willingly.

Quader said the election schedule will be declared within one and a half months and there is no unstable situation in the country. The politics of BNP is limited to criticism of their rivals, he added.

He said BNP has no ability to become an opposition party in parliament and the countrymen will identify them (BNP) as the most failed opposition party in the country's history.About the polls-time government, Quader said,

"The election-time cabinet will take the charge and only Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has the right to look into the matter of the size of the cabinet as per the constitution."He said the size of the cabinet will be small like that during the previous polls.

"Those having no representation in the present parliament cannot be made members of the polls-time government," the minister added.

About the train tour, Quader said, "It is really unbelievable that we got huge response from the common people during the journey.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, has expressed uncertainty over completion of the Padma Bridge construction work by the scheduled time.

"The Padma River is the most unpredictable one. Although everything is ready, I'm not still sure about its timely completion," he said.

"It has become tough to install spans... now it has become a Herculean task. The construction works are getting delayed for such uncertainty," he added.
