Cops arrest two neo-JMB men in Chittagong

CHITTAGONG, Jan 02 (BSS): Police arrested two suspected members of banned militant outfit neo-JMB from East Madarbari area under Sadarghat thana in the port city on Monday night.

Members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit and Detective Branch (DB) of police in a joint drive also recovered eight hand grenades, two bombs and two suicidal vests from their possession.

The arrestees are identified as Asfaqur Rahman alias Abu Zahir Al-Bangali (22) of Mymensingh and Rakibul Hasan Jony alias Abu Taif Al Bangali (19) of Muradnagar upazila in Comilla district.

AAM Humayun Kabir, additional deputy commissioner of DB police, said a CTTC team raided a five-story building in Balurmat area of East Madarbari around 11.30 pm and arrested them along with the explosives.
