Court accepts charge sheet against three female JMB militants

An anti-terror special tribunal accepted on Monday charge sheet against three female members of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in a case lodged over law enforcing agencies' raid at Azimpur militants den, reports BSS.

Judge Md Mojibur Rahman of Dhaka Anti-Terror Special Tribunal accepted the charge sheet and set June 16 for holding hearing on indictment.

The three accused are JMB's former coordinator Tanvir Qaderi's wife Abedatul Fatema alias Khadiza, JMB leader Nurul Islam Marjan's wife Afrin alias Prioti and Basharuzzaman Chocolate's wife Shayla Afrin.

The court also dropped names of Tanvir Qaderi and Shahnaz Begum from the charge sheet.

Law enforcing agency men raided the Azimpur den of the militants on September 11, 2016.

A militant got killed and three injured female militants were apprehended in the raid. Five law enforcers got injured in the operation as female militants launched an unprovoked attack on them with sharp weapons and chili powder. Police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit Sub- Inspector (SI) Delwar Hossain filed the case with Lalbagh Police Station.

CTTC Assistant Police Commissioner Md Ahsanul Haque on December 10, 2017, filed the charge sheet.
