Dr Zafrullah gets bail in Savar cases

The High Court on Sunday granted anticipatory bail to Gonoshasthya Kendra founder Dr ZafrullahChowdhury in two cases filed in Savar on charges of land grabbing and extortion, reports UNB.

An HC bench of Justice Muhammad Abdul Hafiz and Justice MohiUddin Shamim passed the order when Dr Zafrullah appeared before the court and sought bail.

Senior lawyer Advocate Zainul Abedin said the High Court granted bail to Dr Zafarullah till submission of police report in the cases.

Earlier on October 19, Hasan Imam, a resident of Savar, filed the cases against Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury on charges of occupying a piece of land and demanding toll with Ashulia Police Station.
