EC asks IGP to probe attack on Dr Kamal in three days

The Election Commission (EC) sent on Monday a letter to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) asking him to submit an investigation report within three days over the recent attack on Jatiya Oikyafront leader Dr Kamal Hossain's motorcade, report agencies.

The letter was sent to the IGP in the morning, said EC joint secretary Md Abul Kashem.

On December 14, Dr Kamal Hossain's motorcade came under attack allegedly by ruling party activists near the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial at Mirpur while returning after paying tributes to martyred intellectuals, leaving at least 10 people injured.

However, Dr Kamal managed to escape the attack unhurt.
