EC finalises 40,199 polling centres

The Election Commission (EC) has finalised a total of 40,199 polling stations across the country for holding the 11th parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on December 30, report agencies.

The Commission has started publishing gazettes after finalising the polling stations, said EC Deputy Secretary Md Abdul Halim Khan on Tuesday.

The EC has legal obligation to publish gazettes on the lists of the voting centres at least 25 days before the election. Some 104.2 million voters will exercise their franchise in the election through the 40,199 polling stations across the country.
