Ex-secretary of Feni dist AL Taleb Ali dies

Former secretary of Feni district Awami League ABM Taleb Ali passed away at his Feni town residence at 8am on Tuesday, reports BSS.

Taleb Ali, also former labour affairs secretary of the AL, was 93.

He left behind two sons, three daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

His body was taken to village home Krishtopur in Sonagazi upazila after a namaz-e-janaza at Feni's Mizan Maidan on the day.

He will be buried at family graveyard after holding second janaza after Asr prayers.

ABM Taleb Ali was elected member of the East Pakistan Provincial Assembly in the 1970 election.

He was also elected parliamentarian in 1973 and 1979.

Taleb was an organiser of the Liberation War in 1971.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in London, has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former parliament member, valiant freedom fighter and Awami League central leader ABM Taleb Ali.

In a condolence message, the prime minister said the nation has lost an

efficient organiser and dedicated politician in his death.

Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed

profound sympathy to the bereaved family of Taleb Ali, also a close associate

of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
