Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Tuesday the government can do nothing if BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia loses her ability to participate in the national polls following a court's verdict, report agencies.
The minister was visiting the area to witness the activities of a mobile court of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on the Dhaka-Mawa highway.
"BNP has made an absconding convicted man (Tarique Rahman) as their acting chairman, which proves that if BNP returns to power again they will be champion in corruption once again," said the minister.
Executive Magistrate Muhammad Abdur Rahim Sujan conducted the mobile court with the assistance of law enforcers.
