Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote organised the event marking the 2nd death anniversary of Sengupta — Focus Bangla Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Sunday paid glowing tributes to Suranjit Sengupta, one of the country's veteran parliamentarians, and recalled his outstanding contribution to non-communal politics, reports BSS.
"Suranjit Sengupta was not only a political leader but also a veteran parliamentarian," he said, speaking at a memorial meeting at the National Press Club in the city.
Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote (BSJ) organised the meeting marking the second death anniversary of former Awami League advisory council member and railways minister Suranjit Sengupta.
Hasan, also the publicity and publication secretary of the ruling party, said Suranjit Sengupta’s death is an irreparable loss to the country's political arena.
