Mainul faces case under Digital Security Act

A case been filed against Barrister Mainul Hosein under the Digital Security Act over hurling abusive words at journalist Masuda Bhatti in a television talk-show on October 16, reports UNB.
Sumona Akhter Lily, Awami League Youth and Sports sub-committee member, filed the case with Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge Ash-Shams Jaglul Hussein under sections 25 (2) and 29 of the act on Wednesday.
After hearing the statement of the complainant, the court ordered Gulshan thana to list the case as FIR.
On Monday night, a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested the former caretaker government adviser from the capital in a defamation case filed in Rangpur district.
On Tuesday morning, he was sent to jail by a Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
