Minister warns against graft

FE Report | April 02, 2019 00:00:00

Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury warned newly-appointed assistant commissioners (AC-Land) on Monday against corruption.

"Bangladesh is changing and is on the path of development. You should change your mindsets," he said while addressing AC (Land) at Land Administration Training Centre (LATC) at Katabon in the city as the chief guest.

"Don't get involved in graft. Don't patronise or pamper corruption. The image of the government, and myself too, depends on your activities," he said.

The minister went on "I don't want you (AC-Land) not to do things that compel us to think differently".

He said that the people are the real owners of the country.

"If they (people) face harassment then how can we justify that they are the owner of the country?," he added.

"Please think of some new innovative ideas on how to deliver your services to the people better. I hope you will brighten the image of the land ministry," he said.

A total of 72 AC (Land) participated in the training course that started on March 19. It will end today (Tuesday).

Director of LATC Md Abdul Hye was present, among others.
